The couple's maid ( Kalairani) believes Malini to be possessed and calls in an exorcist ( Suhasini). Rajan ( Sarath Babu) and begins to doubt that his wife is suffering from a psychological disease. Vasanth is convinced that she has developed some sort of psychological disorder. Then, a series of inexplicable experiences drive her to near madness. Malini learns about this incident and becomes oddly fixated with the story. The previous occupant of the flat, Manju (Meena), killed her child, and then jumped from the balcony and died. However, the apartment has a horrifying past. Vasanth finds the perfect place on the 12th floor of a high-rise apartment building. The two are in search of a flat in Chennai. Thiyagarajan plays a policeman in the movie, while Devan, K R Vijaya and Abbas are also in the cast.The film revolves around Vasanth ( Prashanth), a stock analyst, and his wife Malini ( Meena). Towards the second-half, her histrionics deserve appreciation. Prashanth looks matured and executes his part well. The ghosts real motive is found out by her and a solution is finally arrived at to the relief of Prashanth. Suhasini finds out that Meena is exorcised by the ghost of the young woman, who died in the flat. However, when his maidservant Kalairani insists on him that his wife is exorcised by a ghost, he decides to call a medium( one who converses to ghosts). Piqued by her attitude, Prashanth consults a psychiatrist Sarath Babu, who tells him that his wife suffers from a multiple personality disorder. She begins walk away from her flat in the nights.
When Meena comes to know about it, she feels herself in a world of dark secluded from everyone.
However, he hides a truth to her that a young girl had jumped off from the flat and died, a few months ago.
Prashanth and Meena move into their new rented flat in an apartment complex. Prashanth, Meena and Suhasini Manirathinam have done their best, while Saleem Sulaiman's background score add strength to the film. Thiyagarajan, who has produced and directed the movie deserve an appreciation for his honest and sincere attempt on the screen. Interestingly, it's an entertainer with no songs, no gorgeous sets, neither action nor punch line dialogues, which are a common feature in a Tamil movie, these days. Prashanth's Shock, a remake of Ramgopal Verma's Bhoot, is a movie on whether there exist ghosts or not?
